Disruption to services due to a fault with the electrical third rail between Gatwick Airport & Three Bridges

Disruption to services through Gatwick Airport

A fire broke out this morning on a section of track outside Gatwick Airport.  The emergency services attended and the fire is out, however the electrical third rail, running rail, and some surrounding cables have all suffered extensive damage.

Network Rail, who own and maintain the signalling and track, have advised us that all reapirs have now been completed, however disruption to trains is expected to continue for the rest of the day while we recover the service
