What ticket delivery options are available to me?
First Class post: Tickets purchased by 16:00 will be processed and dispatched within 24 hours of booking using Royal Mail First Class post. Please book tickets 5 postal days prior to departure to allow for delivery.
This also applies to the Recorded Signed For delivery option. Please note, we are unable to guarantee delivery for first class and shall not be obliged to change, cancel, replace or refund a ticket once it has been posted.
Recorded Signed For: For daily tickets we now offer this service free for bookings over £100.
For season tickets this service is free of charge.
For bookings less than £100 you can select this delivery option for a cost of £2, it offers:
- Proof of postage
- Signature on delivery
- Online confirmation of delivery
Please note, we are unable to guarantee next day delivery, if this is a requirement then we recommend you use the Next Day Special Delivery option.
You can track your delivery using Royal Mail's Track and Trace service by going to fastrailticketing.com/southern.
Enter your eight character booking reference number and click 'Search'. You will be given a 13 character tracking number, simply click the 'Track' link to find out if Royal Mail has delivered or attempted to deliver your item.
Next Day Special Delivery
Order your tickets by 16:00 and we will guarantee delivery the next working day*.
Two rates are available.
£6.00 (inclusive of VAT) guarantees delivery before 13:00 and provides insurance up to £500.00.
£10.00 (inclusive of VAT) guarantees delivery before 13:00 and provides insurance up to £2500.00(Seasons only).
*Remote areas and Islands of Scotland will take longer to reach. Orders placed on Saturday or Sunday are despatched on Monday and delivered on Tuesday. Orders placed on a Bank Holiday are despatched on Tuesday and delivered on Wednesday.

What is fastrailticketing?
Fastrailticketing is a function customers can use to check the status of their special delivery tickets.
Customers can click on a link fastrailticketing.com/southern and enter their online 8 character booking reference number.This will then be matched against a database and given a unique Royal Mail Track and Trace number. Customers can then go straight to the Royal Mail site (there is no need to re-enter the tracking number) and the status of the delivery will be shown (including electronic proof of delivery where available).
What is TOD?
TOD stands for Ticket on Departure. This is the delivery option that lets you collect your tickets (purchased online) from any Self-Service Ticket machine within Southern and is free of charge.
