On 26 July 2015, Gatwick Express and Southern joined Great Northern and Thameslink to operate under one company, Govia Thameslink Railway.

Customer facing roles
We’re more than just stations, trains and railways; there are a wealth of jobs that help us to support our 157 stations and the 2322 trains that we run daily. Our roles include Platform, Gateline, Salespoint Assistants and Customer Experience Managers and many of our current Station Managers started within these roles. Our train crews and security teams continue that customer focus, so we look for the same passion from our Train Drivers, Conductors, Revenue Protection and Rail Neighbourhood teams, all of whom have high customer visibility.
This part of the company includes Train Planning, Performance, Engineering (mechanical and electrical) and they all support our customer facing teams. Then there are Train Carers who do so much to prepare our trains and whose work has won nationally-recognised awards for cleanliness. Opportunities also arise in Finance, HR, Marketing, Procurement, Project Management, Safety, Training and Development. People in these areas support our staff with the tools to perform at a high level.
A bit about us...
The first rail link to Gatwick Airport opened in 1959. However, it was not until 1984 that the Gatwick Express operation was established. In June 2008, the Gatwick Express service came under the stewardship of Southern Railway.
Our excellent service...
Gatwick Express offers the only non-stop train service between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport stations - with trains running every 15 minutes with a journey time of just half an hour. Our modern fleet provides passengers with a comfortable journey, offering both First Class and Express Class seating, with an on-board trolley service of light refreshments. We offer a free porter service at both stations too.

Our drugs and alcohol policy
In the interests of safety, we have a zero-tolerance policy towards alcohol and drugs in the workplace.
We require all new employees to pass an alcohol and drug screening as a condition of any offer of employment. All employees are also subject to random drug and alcohol screenings over the course of their employment.
