ASLEF strike update

ASLEF have announced the suspension of industrial action so the full timetable on Southern and Gatwick Express train services will be restored from Tuesday 24 January. Until then, Gatwick Express train services will operate to a reduced half-hourly frequency and will run between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport only.

RMT strike action is planned to take place on Monday 23 January. Please visit the Southern website for the latest information.

To allow Network Rail to carry out essential engineering work, a number of late night/early morning services will not run. Check our timetable for full details.

Railcards & student discounts

Gatwick Express now accepts railcards online allowing you to make great savings on the already discounted online price if you have one of the following cards:

  • Family & Friends Railcard
  • Senior Railcard
  • Disabled Persons Railcard
  • 16 - 25 Railcard
  • HM Forces Railcard

When making your online booking, tick the railcard box to receive your discount. However, please be aware you can’t use any of these railcards with Gatwick Express Group Discount Tickets (4-for-2, 3-for-2, 5-for-3) which are already heavily discounted.

Ensure you have your Railcard with you when you travel on Gatwick Express, as the ticket collector will always ask to see the Railcard along with your ticket. You will have to buy a new ticket if you don’t have your Railcard with you.

For details on how to apply, and for the terms and conditions for these cards, go to railcard.co.uk

And for Students…
Gatwick Express offer discounted travel to anyone with an International Student Identity Card too. A 25% discount is available to ISIC card holders from ticket offices upon presenting your ISIC card.

Unfortunately we can not accept ISIC cards online. If taking the train outside ticket office hours you will need to purchase the discount ticket in advance.
