442 Gatwick Express trains

Gatwick Express uses refurbished 442 model trains for the Gatwick Airport to London Victoria airport journey. The introduction of the 442 fleet from December 2008, has meant that there is now even more capacity on the line of route to and from the airport, allowing more room and more space within the train.

The refurbishment of the 442 trains has included new Express Class seating, additional seats, new large luggage racks, new First Class areas and improved accessibility area for disabled travel. The 442 trains are known for their great ride, meaning you will have a very smooth ride to and from Gatwick Airport when travelling with Gatwick Express.

We are also working to introduce new Gatwick Express trains by 2016 which are specifically designed for the service and will include free wi-fi.
