Ticket gates

Ticket gates have been installed at Gatwick Airport station and London Victoria platforms 13 and 14 where the Gatwick Express arrives and departs. Installation of the gates will mean you will no longer be able to buy your ticket on board the train.

However, the ticket gates will bring Gatwick Express hurtling up to speed with the very latest technology. The introduction of ticket gates will allow for the future use of smartcard technologies, and they will soon also be equipped with state of the art barcode readers to accept barcoded tickets from our print@home e-ticket and mobile phone online delivery options.

To accommodate luggage, each gate line has wide aisle gates, and uniformed Gatwick Express Customer Service Hosts will be on hand to ensure a seamless journey for all customers, whatever time you arrive or depart.

Ticket gates will ensure Gatwick Express keeps pace with the latest technology, while ensuring we collect our fare revenue at two of the busiest stations in the region.
