Where do you operate?

The Gatwick Express is a non-stop train between London Victoria, which is in the heart of Central London, and London Gatwick Airport.

Do I need a ticket to travel?

Yes, you’ll need a valid ticket (or permit to travel) to travel on our trains. If you travel on a train without a ticket, you’ll be asked to pay the full single or return fare or, may be given a penalty fare.

How do I buy tickets?

You can buy rail tickets with our online ticket booking system, from a ticket vending machine or at a ticket office at your local station. If you buy online you won’t pay a booking fee and delivery is free.

Can I use my Oyster card on your trains?

You can use Oyster Travelcard season tickets on our trains for journeys within the valid zones. You can also use Oyster pay as you go (PAYG) within the travelcard zone area.

How can I plan my journey?

Can I travel earlier or later than booked?

If you need to travel earlier or later than planned there's no need to worry. Anytime Day Return tickets give you complete flexibility around when you travel from London Victoria and Gatwick Airport and back, provided it's on the same day.

If you’ve booked an off peak ticket your travel plans can still be flexible. Off-Peak tickets are valid for travel on trains that arrive into London Victoria after 09:50 on weekdays and there are no time restrictions if you’re travelling from Victoria towards the airport. There is no restriction anytime on weekends and bank holidays.

What transport is available from Victoria at night (after the London Underground closes)?

Victoria station is conveniently located to provide access to local bus and taxi services. There are 2 taxi ranks at the station, one directly above the Gatwick Express platforms, and the other, just outside the front of the station. Local buses also operate from the front of the station and a selection run throughout the night.

Can I use a UK credit card that's registered to a non UK address to buy tickets online?

UK credit/debit cards registered to non UK addresses and Non UK cards with UK addresses will now be accepted if they are enrolled in 3Dsecure.

Can tickets purchased through this website be sent to an overseas address?

Our website allows customers outside the UK to register with us and purchase tickets, but we are unable to deliver overseas. You will be given the option to collect them from the station.

Does a ticket including 'London zones 1-6' allow me to travel on any mode of transport within the relevant zone?

Yes, a Season ticket that includes ‘London zones 1-6' does allow the ticket holder to travel on the tube, bus, DLR, overground, tram, and any other trains in zones 1 to 6.
