Who are we?
Gatwick Express provides a convenient rail passenger service between London Victoria, Gatwick Airport and Brighton. The service was established in 1984 and was merged into the Southern Railway company in 2018.
In 2015, Gatwick Express and Southern Railway joined Great Northern and Thameslink to operate under Govia Thameslink Railway.
Gatwick Express now has its own separate identity again and continues to provide a smooth and efficient service to and from Gatwick Airport.
Why choose Gatwick Express?
We exist to make lives easier by running effortless journeys. We're dedicated to providing a seamless service to our passengers, alongside a high-quality experience. We understand the importance of wanting to get to and from the airport with ease, so Gatwick Express services aim to make things simple.
Booking your rail journey should never feel like a hassle. We're always working on ways to improve our processes so every element of your experience with us is simple. We're working hard to always provide a service you can rely on.
Our commitments
We're passionate about putting our stations and services at the heart of the community we serve. Our list of commitments ensures we can always deliver a high level of service.
Serving our communities
Giving back to our passengers is incredibly important to us, ensuring we can improve the lives of those who choose to travel with us. We want to transform the communities on our network, focusing on making a real difference in the most important areas of society.
Improving your stations
We have a number of station partnerships that have been put in place for volunteers to work with us on improving the stations we operate in. We want to improve the overall appeal of our stations, invest in new facilities and add community artwork to brighten up areas of the buildings.
Sustainability
We publish a sustainability report every year to keep you up to date with our progress. We've created the largest single charging point in rail in the UK and have educated over 8,000 children in railway safety.
Security
We have dedicated Rail Enforcement Officers and Security personnel who work hard to take care of our customers and the stations we operate in. We're also in constant communication with the British Transport Police, who help stop crimes on our network.
