As Gatwick Express commemorates its 40th anniversary, our staff joined in the festivities marking four decades of seamless travel between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport. The service also runs between Gatwick and Brighton.

Renowned for its twice-hourly service, Gatwick Express is the fastest way to travel between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport. Whether you're embarking on a summer getaway abroad or a leisurely afternoon in Brighton, our dedicated team and specially configured trains ensure your journey begins with a smile. 

Celebrating Milestones 

Starting with a tour of Gatwick Airport's recently upgraded railway terminal, festivities included sampling cupcakes, donning bespoke Gatwick Express upholstery vests, and mingling with personnel from both Gatwick Express and Gatwick Airport itself. 

Onboard Experience 

Boarding the Gatwick Express for a direct journey from Gatwick Airport to London Victoria, passengers were treated to a special birthday announcement from the onboard team who can be found on every service. The journey passed through countryside then through increasingly urban environments, culminating with stunning views of Battersea Power-station before arriving on schedule at London Victoria. 

Recognition and Appreciation 

Joined by our CEO Angie Doll and other members of the headquarters team, station staff were honoured with individualised birthday cards and enjoyed cupcakes as a token of appreciation. Many of these dedicated individuals have served with Gatwick Express for over two decades, embodying our commitment to passenger satisfaction.

Launched in 1984, Gatwick Express beat the Concorde to Gatwick, predating Concorde's arrival by a year. We continue to provide a fast, safe and reliable service between London and Gatwick. Offering dedicated trains, attentive onboard staff, and unparalleled convenience, Gatwick Express operates twice hourly, year-round, ensuring travellers a stress-free and smile-inducing journey to the airport.
